Duchesne County Receives Multiple Recognitions At Library Conference

Two individual awards put a spotlight on Duchesne County during the 2023 Utah Library Association Conference held last week at the Davis Conference Center. Former Duchesne County Commissioner Greg Todd received the Special Services to Libraries Award due primarily to his work with the planning, funding, and construction of the new 16,700 square foot Roosevelt Branch Library as well as his consistent support of the Duchesne County Library Board. Duchesne County Library Systems Director Daniel Mauchley was also recognized at the Conference, being presented with the President’s Award. The President’s Award is given by the current Utah Library Association President to an individual who has demonstrated exceptional efforts in Utah librarianship.The 2023 ULA President Marissa Bishcoff of Brigham Young University selected Mauchley, citing various contributions, including Duchesne County’s Quality Library Awards over the years as well as the COVID Exemplary Services Award and Mauchley’s leadership role in the construction of the new Roosevelt Branch Library. He has also served on the ULA board and as President during the COVID pandemic launching the Association’s first virtual conference and overseeing the complete revision of the Association’s bylaws. Congratulations to Greg Todd and Daniel Mauchley on their well deserved recognitions!
