A Duchesne County Jail inmate is facing additional felony charges following an event that took place in the jail on April 4th.
According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, 20-year-old Damion Rasmussen-Boren was recorded covering his cell camera with what appeared to be wet toilet paper. The video footage shows him later removing what was obstructing the camera lens, revealing that the emergency fire sprinkler was spraying water and fire retardant all over the cell.
When interviewed about the incident, Damion stated that he broke the sprinkler because he didn’t like being in isolation. It was noted that the critical damage caused to the cell rendered it uninhabitable until reparations can be completed.
He has been charged with 2nd Degree Felony Criminal Mischief and 3rd Degree Felony Damage to Jails.
