Duchesne County Fall Burn Window Opening September 15

The Duchesne County Fall Burn Window opens tomorrow and runs through the month of October. Burn hours are sunrise to sunset and all fires must be completely extinguished by dusk. Burn permits are required. Materials allowed to be burned include untreated wood and dry vegetation, such as weeds, leaves, and tree trimmings. Prohibited material includes garbage, household waste, plastics, rubber, treated or painted wood, and construction materials. Maintain a water source and tools on site at all times. Do not leave fires unattended. Keep burn piles to a manageable size. Do not burn on windy days. Fires must be fully extinguished by dusk. Property owners are liable for any fire that escapes the controlled area. Report controlled burns to Central Dispatch prior to ignition by calling 435–789-4222 or 435-738-2424. Burning may be restricted or closed at any time due to high winds, dry conditions, or elevated fire danger.
