While still in need of a few finishing touches, the new courtrooms in Duchesne County are complete and considered a valuable addition to Duchesne County infrastructure. The addition of new courtrooms to the Duchesne County Jail became a possibility after Utah legislature approved the assignment of two new judges for 8th District Court in Duchesne County and funds were acquired from the Community Impact Board in 2014 to construct the needed courtrooms. The courtrooms have been in use for 8 months now and are considered a very worthwhile addition. The Duchesne County Commission shares that the project has been well worth the time, effort and cost as the courtroom is able to function as needed utilizing modern technology and providing the courts with what is needed to function on a much more efficient level. Finishing touches are expected to be complete this spring.
