The D.A.R.E. program is returning to Duchesne County. The Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office announced last week that Sheriff Dave Boren and Chief Deputy Travis Tucker both completed the 80 hour officer training that will allow the program to return to Duchesne County. “This highly extensive training allows them to teach both the elementary and the middle school curriculum to the students in our schools,” shares the Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Boren and Chief Deputy Tucker will visit schools throughout the county including Altamont, Tabiona, Duchesne, Myton and Neola and the focus has evolved to include much more than just saying NO to drugs. The program will educate youth on school safety, internet safety, student drug use, community safety and bullying awareness, education and prevention.
