Structures have been lost in a fire two miles east of Fruitland today. The Uintah Basin Interagency Fire Center says the fire was called in today at 3:24pm. Duchesne County Fire representative Mike Erickson says the Fruitland Shed Fire is an estimated 8 to 10 acres and two structures are confirmed a total loss. Initially a helicopter was on its way but crews were able to get enough of a handle on the fire that it was cancelled, shares Erickson. The Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office has reported that up to three or four houses have been destroyed. Delays are to be expected on Highway 40 for the next few hours.
