Tuesday was a good day for containment on the double wildfire located about a mile east of Myton. The North River Fire started Sunday, March 28th and the East Myton Fire was called in on the afternoon of March 29th. Heavy winds on Monday pushed both fires away from the city of Myton but still within an area with homes, ranches, and infrastructure. By Monday night it was reported the fires had joined, resulting in the incident being renamed the East Myton Complex. As of Tuesday evening, Utah Fire Info reported that containment was at 25 percent and it covered 2,707 acres. On Tuesday morning, it was reported that there were 90 total personnel on the fire with resources of 23 engines and 4 tenders. Firefighters have been working around the clock to protect the homes and secure the fireline. Mop up will continue on Wednesday.
