TriCounty Health Director Kirk Benge is asking the community to please help slow the spread of COVID-19. “Our area is experiencing a surge in COVID-19 that we haven’t experienced since the winter of 2020,” shares Benge. “We know how to slow this down. We just have to do it again. We are at serious risk of not having hospital beds for those who need them. Our combined efforts as a community can slow this down and let our overworked emergency department workers catch their breath.” TriCounty Health shared on August 26th that Uintah County had 384 active cases with 20 local hospitalizations and two new deaths in the previous 7 days bringing the death count to date to 45. “It’s important to remember that you can spread COVID-19 for several days before you even feel sick,” Benge continued. “If someone in your household is sick, or if you’ve been around someone who has recently become sick, it is important to take actions to prevent exposing your friends or coworkers.” For the latest local information, visit www.tricountyhealth.com
