Very often the preliminary results from an election reveal the clear winner of a race for public office but occasionally the results are too close to comfortably say. The race for Uintah County Commission Seat B appears to be the latter. The preliminary results show that Danny Harrell received 2,417 votes for 49.95% of the vote and Joe McKea received 2,422 votes for 50.05% of the vote; just a 5 vote difference. The election will be audited on June 30th at 10:00am in the Uintah County Clerk-Auditor’s Office and the election canvass will be held on July 1 at 11am in the Uintah County Commission large conference room. The public is welcome to attend the audit and canvassing. Potential additional ballots not included in the preliminary election results include provisional ballots and any ballots with signatures to be cured.
