The annual Mayor’s Walk in Vernal is always a Halloween hit and the move to downtown this year is expected to take the festivities to the next level. Vernal City Manager Quinn Bennion announced this fall that Main Street will be shut down for the Mayor’s Walk this year! “The Mayor Walk is the traditional safe community trick-or-treat event,” shares Bennion. “This year, Main Street will be closed to traffic and Halloween fans can walk the stores downtown hunting for candy and treats.” The event will be held Saturday, October 30th from 3pm to 4:30pm on Main Street between 100 East and 200 West. Roosevelt City is also celebrating downtown but their party will be held on Thursday, October 28th. Little ghosts and ghouls can visit the Roosevelt City offices before 3pm to trick or treat before heading downtown for the Trick-or-Treat Halloween Parade. Preschool children will be invited to trick or treat first at 3pm with children 5 to 12 from 3:30 to 5pm. Remember that all children must be accompanied by an adult.
