KNEU 1250Vernal City Finance Director Mike Davis made a presentation this month to the Vernal City Council on the current budget status and outlook. According to Davis, the general fund for Vernal City is approximately $9 million dollars and the utility fund is approximately $5 million dollars.

The Uintah County Teen Outreach Program and TriCounty Health Department started the Little Hats, Big Hearts hat drive this month to provide infant hats to hospitals and raise awareness for congenital heart defects
The no-show jurors on the Flatlip/Rondeau mistrial in Summit County last week will be ordered to show cause for their absence in court. According to Summit County 3rd District Court Supervisor Debbie Foust, the court is issuing order to show cause to each of the 36 no-show jurors.
The Powerhouse Dance Studio packed the house performing The Nutcracker on December 18th and 19th. This year’s ballet starred Kaylee Russell as Clara, Cutler Rust as the Nutcracker Prince, Shilo Grayhawk as the Sugar Plum Fairy, and Harlee Woods as the Rat King.

The awarding of additional inmate contracts at the Uintah County Jail is bringing new revenue to Uintah County. Within the next 30 days, shares Sheriff Vance Norton, the number of state prisoners is expected to reach the contracted amount of 125.
