KNEU 1250An accident occurred on Highway 40 near Eagle View Elementary on Tuesday morning when a pickup truck trying to turn east onto Highway 40 pulled out in front of a car. According to Utah Highway Patrol, the car was traveling westbound and the driver of the truck was turning from 2540 West onto the highway when it was hit broadside.
In what amounted to a freak accident, an elk downed a helicopter near Currant Creek Reservoir in Wasatch County on Monday around 4:38pm. The crash occurred just over the Duchesne County line and Fruitland EMS was the first to respond. “We had 3 EMTs respond,” explains UBMC EMS Director Von Johnson. “They checked out the pilot and copilot and they were fine.
Moonshine Arch has long been a favorite local hike in Uintah County but as it has grown in popularity so has the need for improvements and better signage for tourists. Thankfully, the funding will be coming through the UDOT Small Urban Committee to do just that.

Detectives are asking again for the public’s help to identify individuals who are potential victims in a case of voyeurism that keeps multiplying. 28-year-old Ryan M. Flaten was arrested on November 17th after a GoPro video camera was found in a public restroom in a Maverick Country Store in Lyman, Wyoming.
The Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office is among nearly 1,000 other organizations to sign a letter in support of the Byrne Justice Assistance Grant program. Byrne JAG is a federal crime-fighting program that is facing continued funding reductions and the letter emphasizes that these reductions come at a significant cost.
