KNEU 1250The Uintah School District has provided their Draft Reopening Plan Executive Summary for the public to review and offer their feedback on. In a Thursday press release, the District shared that the plan was developed by a COVID-19 Task Force made of numerous staff and community members.
Duchesne County Fire Marshal Mike Lefler issued a news release on Wednesday announcing that construction is underway on the Dollar Ridge Fire Emergency Watershed Protection Project. The project is taking place in the Strawberry River and Timber Canyon areas to repair damage caused by the Dollar Ridge Fire and the flash floods that followed.

The Uintah School Board met Wednesday night in a public meeting where the community got its first glimpse of the proposed school reopening plans. The Board had received the full copy of the plan just 24 hours before the meeting and many in the public attended to see for themselves the proposed plan and offer their input in person.
After serving as interim commissioner of higher education for the last year, Dave Woolstenhulme was appointed to the position full time. The newly appointed 18-member Utah Board of Higher Education approved the appointment during its inaugural meeting on July 1st.

School reopening plans are a hot topic in Uintah County and the draft reopening plan for the 2020-2021 school year will be presented to the Uintah School Board tonight in a Special Business Meeting.
