The scientists at Dinosaur National Monument love what they do and will always be sure the treasures found there are properly named. A few years ago, the sandstone identified from the late Triassic/early Jurassic era was changed from being called the Glen Canyon Sandstone to the Nugget Sandstone.

Uintah County Comments On Ashley Creek Area Land Transfer

Monday’s transfer of 790.02 acres of the Ashley Gorge area to Uintah County was a moment years in the making. According to a press release from Uintah County issued on Tuesday, the John D. Dingell, Jr. Conservation, Management, and Recreation Act of 2019 was started by Congressman Rob Bishop over seven years ago with the creation of the Public Lands Initiative aimed at helping Utah counties have more say in managing public lands.
