Public officials were sworn in, each to 4-year-terms, including Commissioner Matt Tippets, Commissioner Randy Asay, Clerk Brian Raymond, Recorder/Treasurer Brianne Carter, and Assessor Lesa Asay. County Attorney Niel Lund was unable to attend the ceremony and was sworn in virtually.

The TriCounty Health District COVID-19 Transmission Index Levels remain with Uintah County and Duchesne County at the High Transmission Level and Daggett County is in the Low Transmission Level.. At the time of Thursday’s press release, Uintah County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 32 percent and there were 269 cases in the past 14 days.

Lane grew up on a Lapoint farm where he started riding dairy calves at the age of 5.
The grand opening of the ice rink at Constitution Park in Roosevelt is a sure thing and the community is invited to the festivities on Friday, January 15th. “Skating will be available all day long,” shares Roosevelt City. “There is no cost to use the rink. Just bring your own skates and dress warm!”
The health department released a COVID-19 udpate press release on Tuesday: TriCounty Health Department began vaccinating K-12 educators in Uintah, Duchesne and Daggett counties on January 12th, and will continue vaccinating K-12 educators in the tri-county area throughout the week, or until vaccination supplies run out.
Poaching in Utah was down in 2020 from the year before but not by much. According to a press release from the Division of Wildlife Resources, a total of 1,056 animals were killed illegally in 2020 compared to 1,080 in 2019. “The total combined value of the wildlife illegally killed in 2020 was more than $379,000.
