KNEU 1250The preliminary results for the Uintah County 2022 Republican Primary Election report that 6,095 Republican ballots were cast out of 12,915 registered Republican voters for a voter turnout of 47.19 percent.

A small fire in a remote area of Dinosaur National Monument took a turn for the worse over the weekend. According to the announcement, a fire started when a single tree was struck by lightning on the south side of Whirlpool Canyon on June 18th.
A man plead guilty and was sentenced for murder in Moffat County Court Thursday, June 23rd. The case began in November 2020 when around 5:30pm on November 30th the Moffat County Sheriff’s office was notified that a man’s body had been found in a remote area of northwest Moffat County.

The new access to the Moonshine Arch Trail is now open. According to the UDOT announcement, the new access has been moved further north to a straight section of Highway 191. This, along with the new turn lane, has increased safety for motorists.
The Rainbow Family of Living Light is holding their annual gathering in western Colorado and local leaders are working to prepare. According to the Moffat County Sheriff’s Office, local law enforcement leaders have been meeting with local, state and federal partners since the Rainbow Family announced the location of this year’s annual gathering on June 14th.
The Primary Election is coming up Tuesday, June 28th. In Duchesne County, the only location for voting is at the Clerk/Auditor’s office at 734 North Center Street in Duchesne.
The House Armed Services Committee (HASC) passed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2023. Included in the bill is many sponsored provisions by Congressman Blake Moore.
This is the third year for a patriotic tradition as the Field of Flags returns this year to the Walking Park in Vernal. The flag field will be set up on Tuesday, June 28th and flown until Tuesday, July 5th.
