The Uintah Basin Cattlemen Association is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for shooting cattle in Uintah County. According to Richie Anderson with the cattlemen association, 3 different head of livestock owned by three different ranchers were shot and killed last week in the area west of Lapoint.
The first of three meetings got underway on Tuesday in Lapoint to gather public input on the Uintah County Trails Master Plan. “People know their neighborhoods better than we do,” shares trails committee member and TriCounty Health Director Jordan Mathis.

Prescribed burning is underway in the Flaming Gorge Ranger District. According to Ashley National Forest representative Louis Haynes, burning on Dowd Mountain began on Friday, May 12th, and is expected to treat about 1500 acres of forest when complete.
The superintendent and a principal in the Daggett County School District are accused of knowing a 13-year-old girl had been exchanging nude photos with a 21-year-old man and failed to report it to police or the girl’s guardian.
