BLM Seeks Input for Book Cliffs Travel Management Planning

With the Environmental Assessment on the Book Cliffs Travel Management Area underway, the BLM is inviting the public to offer their input. Specifically the BLM is interested in information or concerns related to roads, routes, or trails. The travel management plan is “to establish a network of roads for travel and transportation including areas for both motorized and non-motorized uses. Public input is essential to designate a travel system that provides appropriate access to and across public lands for a variety of uses including recreation, hunting, grazing, mineral exploration and energy development.” The BLM is at the very early stages of this process and are providing the first opportunity to attend a public meeting on June 7th from 6 to 8 pm at Vernal City Hall. A second meeting will be held the following night, June 8th, from 6 to 8pm at UBATC in Roosevelt. For more information, call 435-781-4400.
