BLM Authorizes Drilling On Mikaela Well Pad In Uintah County

The Bureau of Land Management Vernal Field Office has issued an Environmental Assessment for the Mikaela Well Pad in northeastern Utah. The Official signed a decision record approving two Applications for Permit to Drill authorizing applicant Anschutz Exploration Corporation to horizontally drill natural gas wells from the Mikaela Well Pad. The EA also analyzed constructing the pad with an access road and pipelines and drilling up to eight additional wells for a total of ten. The project location is approximately 30 miles southeast of Vernal in Uintah County.
