After several weeks and multiple reports of burglary and other criminal behavior, a man has been arrested and is being held without bail on multiple felony charges. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, multiple reports were received by police of money, jewelry, and valuables stolen from homes in Roosevelt in June. One woman reported that while she was out of town, a man kicked in her door and stole cash and jewelry but was surprised to find the woman’s nephews inside asleep, prompting the man to threaten them with a knife. The woman said she knew the man and believed he had pawned the stolen items. On July 18th, the suspect, 27-year-old Andrew Glenn Taveapont, was booked into the Duchesne County Jail on unrelated charges. Andrew was also booked on charges of Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Burglary, Aggravated Assault, and Criminal Mischief. Taveapont is reported to be homeless and is wanted by the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office as well for theft of a vehicle that was located in the Ft. Duchesne area.
