It’s closing weekend for Vernal Theatre Live’s ‘Finding Neverland’, the heartwarming and fun play based on the true story of author J.M. Barrie’s writing of the iconic tale of Peter Pan. Jaxston Wall, who plays Barrie, caught the theatre bug on the Vernal Theatre Live stage in the Junior shows. He’s participated in many productions with different theatres since but being able to play J.M. Barrie in ‘Finding Neverland’ is something special. “I was led to this role, originally by listening to the soundtrack in High School,” shares Wall. “The magic within the music is just so uplifting and emotionally charged. However, after watching the Hale Center Theatre production of the show, I knew immediately that I needed to be a part of this story someday. The role of J.M Barrie also resonates with me very much, at a time in my life where I find myself looking to ‘believe’ more than ever.” The experience of working with the Finding Neverland cast and crew has been amazing, says Wall. “Everyone is so kind to each other and gives their absolute best every single night. Megan Pearson (Sylvia) and Isaac Neilson (Peter) are wonderful scene partners. They are both extremely talented souls, and it’s been an honor sharing the stage with them. It really does feel like a second family.” Wall plans to move to the Los Angeles area in 2027 to attend school on scholarship at The Stella Adler Academy of Acting, and to pursue voice acting. Get your chance to see him on stage in Vernal tonight or tomorrow in Finding Neverland. Visit vernaltheatre.com for tickets.
