Bronc Riding Nation has shared some very exciting news concerning a cowboy who was the 2024 World Champion Bareback Rider diagnosed with Burkitt’s Lymphoma earlier this year. “Dean Thompson has cleared every chemical and radiation hurdle on his protocol and on the road to the athletic excellence required to nod for a world class bareback horse,” shares Bronc Riding Nation. All that remains is the moment of truth in testing to be certain he is cancer free. On July 12th, Dean shared, “We are so grateful for the support we’ve received. Hoping July the 16th marks a close to this still so weird and terrible chapter. So thankful to be getting back to life and doing many of the things I love. Just to get to take action to try to be the best at whatever I’m doing that day is truly a gift I’ve received because of this last period of life. Work feels amazing, and anything but cancer is welcomed into my life right now.”
