The Duchesne City Mayor and Fire Chief announced over the weekend that personal fireworks will not be allowed within Duchesne City limits, following the statewide fireworks restrictions announced through July 5. The letter signed by Mayor Deborah Herron and Fire Chief Russ Young states that “after carefully evaluating current fire conditions, watching the weather forecast for this coming week, and working together to determine the safest option for our community, Duchesne City and the Duchesne Fire Department have decided to BAN all personal fireworks within Duchesne City limits. With that said, Duchesne City’s Independence Day Celebration and the City’s professional fireworks display will continue as planned at 10:00 p.m. on July 4, as always weather permitting. The professional fireworks display will be supervised by members of the Duchesne Fire Department to help ensure a safe and enjoyable celebration for everyone.” The full letter is shared on the Duchesne City Facebook page.
