Where Is The Smoke From?

If you’ve noticed hazy skies over the last few days you were right to guess there are wildfires to blame. Utah Fire Info shared on Saturday that the severe haze was from increased wildfire activity, including the Iron Fire and Sawmill Fire in western Utah. The biggest culprit, however, is smoke that is being transported from larger wildfires in neighboring states, including Nevada and Arizona. “Smoke can travel hundreds of miles depending on wind and weather patterns, so hazy skies don’t always mean the smoke is coming from a nearby fire,” shares the advisory from Utah Fire Info. “Sensitive groups—including children, older adults, pregnant individuals, and people with heart or lung conditions—should consider limiting prolonged outdoor activity when smoke levels increase. Monitor local air quality forecasts before spending extended time outdoors.”
