Celeste Maloy visited the Evans Family Media studios this week while on the campaign trail in the race for U.S. Congress, running against Phil Lyman. During her interview in studio, Maloy spoke about being present just days before at the announcement made by U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke L. Rollins advancing plans to restore greater local control and flexibility when it comes to grazing permits on forest service lands. Maloy shared her perspective during the interview concerning the ‘Advancing Grazing on Forest Service and BLM Lands MOU and the USDA Department of the Interior Grazing Action Plan’. Maloy said this will matter to agriculture producers in the Uintah Basin as grazing permits will open back up and move toward local decision making and flexibility. Sweeping rules will be replaced with allowing local rangers to make decisions based on conditions on the ground to match the use to the resources, restoring a working relationship with producers.
