Ashley National Forest is celebrating National Trails Day this weekend and invites the public to join in! Trail clean up and hiking opportunities are planned for this Saturday to leave trails better than they were found. Trail cleanup is happening at the Dry Fork Flume Trail on June 6th from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Participants will help with brushing, cleaning drainage, and tread work. Be sure to bring gloves, sturdy shoes, snacks, and water.  Another event will be happening at the Lower Stillwater Ponds that same day, June 6th, from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Come ready to explore the area while hiking, cleaning up and hopefully catching some fish! Ashley National Forest’s message is that “National Trails Day is an opportunity to celebrate the trails, campgrounds, and public lands that connect our communities to the outdoors while helping care for the places people enjoy throughout the year.”
