A woman was arrested in Vernal for DUI and reckless driving after allegedly crashing into her ex’s vehicle and hitting it multiple times, all with 2 young children in the vehicle with her. On May 31, officers responded to a call of a hit-and-run in which a parked vehicle received significant damage. There were witnesses to the event and officers located the suspect vehicle parked at a nearby trailer in the trailer court where the hit-and-run occurred. The owner of the car that was hit told officers that he and Castillo were no longer dating but had lived together. The suspect vehicle showed front-end damage and records showed that it was registered to Angela Castillo. Officers located Castillo and detained her for questioning. A blood test and breath test were both performed. 29-year-old Angela Felicita Castillo was arrested for DUI with passengers under 16, Reckless Driving, Failure to Comply with Duties at an Accident, and Domestic Violence in the Presence of a Child, among other charges. Castilla told officers that she was upset the victim was dating someone new.
