UDOT Warns Of Significant Memorial Holiday Travel Delays On Certain Roads

The Utah Department of Transportation is urging drivers to plan ahead for heavy Memorial weekend traffic across Utah. Among the roads listed by UDOT as expected to have significant delays is eastbound Highway 40 from Heber to Duchesne on Friday, May 22nd and Monday, May 25th with up to 15 minutes of additional delay between 1 and 8pm and peak delays occurring between 2 and 6pm. The next closest route listed as expected to have delays is on US-6 in Spanish Fork Canyon which could reach up to 90 minutes during peak travel periods this weekend. Also worth noting as you make travel plans is that across the state, most UDOT projects will suspend construction and open all lanes to traffic to help reduce delays over the holiday weekend but certain existing lane restrictions or traffic shifts will remain in place as needed to protect the work zone and ensure safety.
