It was another successful year of the Andrew Cox K-9 Memorial Seminar where problem solving scenarios and mock trials are utilized to train K9 teams from near and far. This was the fourth year of the training event and 14 law enforcement agencies attended, including University of Utah Police Department, Utah Department of Corrections, and law enforcement agencies from Sandy, West Jordan, Herriman, Taylorsville, Riverton, Murray, Hurricane, and Summit County, as well as local agencies. The K9 Memorial Seminar was created in memory of Andrew Cox who passed away unexpectedly due to a fatal medical incident. The loss was widely felt in the law enforcement community where Cox served for over 20 years, known for his dedication to the K-9 program and was a recognized expert in the field statewide.
