Varied spring weather has arrived and Uintah County Emergency Management is keeping the community informed on what to watch for. An official Wind Advisory is in effect today from 11am to 8pm. The Advisory notes that southwest winds 25 to 35 mph are expected with gusts of up to 50mph. Please note that winds could move unsecured objects, tree limbs could be blown down, and a few power outages could result.  The Freeze Watch is in effect for late Thursday night through Friday morning and another Freeze Watch is issued for Friday evening through Saturday morning. The Freeze Watches state that sub-freezing temperatures are possible in the eastern portion of the Uinta Basin and northwestern Colorado. Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to drip slowly.
