The Uintah County 2017 Preliminary Budget was presented during the Uintah County Commission meeting
on Monday
, reflecting a decrease in the General Fund. The 2017 proposed General Fund totals $20,605,200 dollars, down just over $2 million dollars from 2016 and a decrease of $5.2 million dollars from 2015. The revenues balanced expenditures at $80,717,900 dollars. Revenues from total taxes equal $11.9 million dollars which is a decrease from 2016 of over $1 million dollars. No raises were included in the budget with the exception of milestone increases for completing certifications such as POST for law enforcement officers. Commissioner Mike McKee noted that the County is very sensitive to downturn in the economy and has worked hard to lower the budget. The budget will be presented again in December for approval.
