The Ute boys basketball team hosted the Union Cougars last Wednesday, Landon Woods and Treyson McKeachnie each scored 17 points, but a last second shot fell just short in the 62-60 Ute loss.
They then traveled to South Summit Friday, Jaybin Favel and Treyson McKeachnie each scored 18, but a fourth quarter surge by the Bears defeated the Utes 57-56.
The Utes now travel to Murray Tuesday to take on the Spartans to kick off the 4A State Tournament.
