Walmart Bomb Threat

The Vernal City Walmart was shut down on Sunday night due to a bomb threat. According to Vernal City Assistant Police Chief Keith Campbell, 55-year-old Scott Baese called in the bomb threat on the evening of March 19th. He was arrested on March 20th. This isn’t the first bomb scare at Vernal’s Walmart in the last 12 months. Vernal’s Walmart was evacuated on April 4th, 2016, after a bomb threat was made by telephone. The store was evacuated and shut down for several hours but no bomb was found. Assistant Chief Campbell says there is no connection that police are aware of between the April 2016 bomb threat and Sunday’s bomb threat. He also notes that every protocol was followed and everyone was safe. Baese is charged with 3rd Degree Felony Terroristic Threat.
