March Madness is for more than basketball tournaments. The Vernal Regional Airport joined in with their own kind of tournament. After 125 logo variations, the Vernal Regional Airport narrowed their logo rebranding options to a final four last week and welcomed further public voting on which logo should be the winner. A winner was announced on Tuesday with the airport administration thanking the public for all their input and thoughts. The rebranding effort is part of the long term vision of the airport. “We are really wanting to bring the airport to the forefront of people’s minds and show them how great of an infrastructure we have here in the Uintah Basin,” shares airport manager Doug Brown. “We have long been branded under the County since they – along with Vernal City – are the sponsors, but we really want to differentiate ourselves and show that the airport is an amazing part of our region on its own.” The final stage of the airport runway project will finish up this spring and the transition from Boutique to Skywest Airlines is scheduled for June.
