Hundred Deadliest Days on Utah Roads Approaches; UHP Urges Safety

Zero fatalities is the only acceptable number for Utah roadways and remains the goal for the state. In 2018, there has been 70 lives lost so far in Utah traffic fatalities to date and we are coming up on what is considered the 100 deadliest days on Utah roadways during the summer travel season. “We would sure love it if our Uintah Basin drivers would please slow down and buckle up,” shares Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Kellie Oaks. “We’re headed into the hundred deadliest days of the year and we would appreciate anything they could do to reduce the fatality rate in Uintah, Duchesne, and Daggett Counties.” In 2017, 273 lives were lost on Utah roads. 20 of those were due to distracted driving, 29 were DUI, 87 were unrestrained, 85 were from aggressive driving and 6 due to drowsy driving.
