Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office has announced that the body of 26-year-old Chenoa L. Plank was recovered from Strawberry Reservoir
Sunday afternoon
. Authorities have shared that Plank and 24-year-old Benjamin Magalis were fishing near Chicken Creek West on Monday, November 12th, when their canoe capsized. “The temperature of the water was about 38 degrees Fahrenheit. Chenoa’s dog, Hazel, was wearing a life jacket and was rescued… Sadly, Chenoa and Benjamin perished in the water. The State Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the official cause of death, although it appears they may have drowned.” Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office expressed their condolences to the families and their appreciation for the assistance of Search and Rescue, deputies, dispatchers, EMS, Summit County, Utah County, the State DPS Dive Team, Utah State Parks, U.S. Forest Service, and Great Western K9 for their search teams and equipment.
