In a letter issued Monday, it was announced that library circulation has finally returned to normal.

Virtual Vernal UTAH’s Storytelling Festival Still Available To View
This year’s Vernal UTAH’s Storytelling Festival was a success with many tuning in for the virtual experience. The tradition of having a storytelling festival in Vernal has growing roots. The festival began in 2004 and thanks to the volunteer efforts of many has continued, even during the uncertainty of the present world.
Double Fatal Crash in Duchesne County on Highway 40
Two people are dead and Utah Highway Patrol is working to piece together what happened after a crash that took place Saturday in Duchesne County. Utah Highway Patrol released that “On March 27th, approximately 3:00PM, a 1997 Jeep Cherokee with two occupants was traveling east on Highway 40, just west of milepost 66.
Local Law Enforcement Honored at Annual Awards Banquet
Local police officers were rightfully honored and thanked last week for their service to the community. No one could have predicted the events of 2020 and even 2021 but thankfully the agency most in need of it had been training for mass vaccination distribution for years. TriCounty Health Department held their first Flu Shootout event in 2015 with the goal of not only offering the flu shot to the public but to also offer valuable training to the health department staff.

A much loved annual event has been postponed for another year. The Flaming Gorge Days Committee and Green River Development Fund made the announcement last week: "The Flaming Gorge Days Committee has made the difficult but necessary decision to postpone Flaming Gorge Days 2021 until 2022 due to the on-going nature of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Ashley National Forest Update
Ashley National Forest announced what areas are opening up with spring. Sheep Creek Bay boat launch is open on the Flaming Gorge. Please be cautious of any floating ice in the area. Please check the Utah Department of Wildlife Resources fishing report for the latest information.
As State Mandate Lifts School Mask Mandate Staying in Place
Getting “back to normal” seems more and more likely. Many people are getting the COVID-19 vaccine and Utah’s mask mandate will soon be lifted since Governor Spencer Cox signed HB294 on Monday… HB294 states that “health safety measures in a K-12 school may remain in place” but that the health order “shall be terminated no later than July 1st, 2021.”
UDOT: Bridge Repair on Highway 40 Over Starvation Reservoir Starting
UDOT wants the public to know that work on the Starvation Bridge will soon be underway. “Drivers should expect travel delays up to 15 minutes,” shares UDOT. “The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) advises drivers to plan for travel delays on U.S. 40 at Starvation Reservoir beginning this spring through and summer.
