If you’re one of the many community members who makes a daily stop at the Uintah Community Center, today will have to be a day you take off. On Tuesday, the Uintah Recreation District announced that the pool would have to be closed due to electrical problems but the hope was that it would be up and running in time for Wednesday’s early morning lap swim.

The Utah Department of Health made their own announcement this week following Friday’s report from the CDC and FDA that serious lung illnesses are being caused by e-cigarettes and vaping. “Public health agencies and health care providers in Utah are investigating several cases of severe lung disease in people who vape nicotine or THC products,” shares the Utah Department of Health. “As of Monday, September 9th, 35 cases associated with vaping nicotine, THC, or both have been reported in Utah, with an additional 12 potential cases being investigated.
