Uintah County Resolution Approved to Adjust Budget

A public hearing was held during the Uintah County Commission meeting on Monday regarding a resolution to increase the budget. Clerk Auditor Mike Wilkins presented Resolution #5-20-19R explaining that these are adjustments due in part to grant funds received since the first of the year.

Critical Injuries Result From Highway 40 Accidents Tuesday Evening

Seat belts and air bags likely saved lives Tuesday evening in multi-car accidents on Highway 40 between Vernal and Roosevelt. According to Utah Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 7:00 pm when a sedan traveling westbound lost control and traveled into the eastbound lane where it was struck by an eastbound sedan. The driver of the westbound vehicle was critically injured and was transported to Ashley Regional Medical Center.

Local Agencies Participate in ‘Border to Border’ Seat Belt Enforcement Launch

Local law enforcement agencies participated in a major seat belt enforcement launch on Monday as Utah joined with six neighboring states for the “Border to Border” Operation as part of the Click It or Ticket campaign. Officers from Vernal City Police Department, Uintah County Sheriff’s Office, and local Utah Highway Patrol met officers from Wyoming agencies at the Utah-Wyoming border as part of this region’s launch of the initiative.

What do you do with over 50 dogs that need to be adopted? The Furever Buddy’s Dog Rescue in Roosevelt had this dilemma but luckily had a wonderful solution. The NKUT Super Adoption event is a cooperative effort between shelters and rescue groups from across northern Utah held at the Utah State Fairpark.

Summer Lunch Programs in the Uintah Basin

We are days away from school letting out for summer and every kid is counting down. The local school districts are still planning, however, on being of service to the children over the summer. In Duchesne County School District, East Elementary, Centennial Elementary and Duchesne Elementary will serve lunch from 11:30am to 12:30pm and Myton Elementary will run 11:45am to 12:30pm.
