A remodel of the terminal building is among the items on the to-do list for the transition to SkyWest Airlines at the Vernal Regional Airport. According to airport manager Doug Brown, designs for the terminal remodel have gone back and forth with TSA but a final plan is basically there. “We hope to have a contractor selected by the end of March so construction could be done by the beginning of May,” says Brown.

Phone Scammers Posing as Sheriff’s Deputies Swindling Citizens
It’s not new but a phone scam is making the rounds again spooking average citizens when the caller identifies themself as a Sheriff’s Deputy informing the victim that a warrant has been issued for their arrest for failing to report for jury duty. A Rock Springs woman recently fell victim to this scam after receiving what she felt was a convincing call from “Deputy Cook” at the Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office.

Uintah County Man Arrested and Charged for Enticing 10-Year-Old Boy
A Uintah County man was in 8th District Court on Monday advised of the charges and penalties against him following his February 28th arrest in Salt Lake City. 30-year-old Donald Flayne Massey has been charged with 3rd Degree Felony Enticing of a Minor by Internet or Text Message. Court documents outline a disturbing correspondence by text message between Massey and a 10-year-old North Carolina boy.
Crowds Flock to Dr. Seuss Birthday Bash at Uintah County Library
There is never a small turnout for the Dr. Seuss birthday celebration held annually at the Uintah County Library. This year was no exception with over 1,100 partiers attending on Friday, many as participants of the 100 Books 100 Chapters Reading Program put on by the Literacy Commission.
