Team Uintah is recognizing an individual who devoted a large part of his life to supporting the youth in Uintah School District and continues to do so. W.J. Wamsley taught 20 years at Todd Elementary and West Junior High School but even after retirement, Mr. Wamsley continues to volunteer his time in the schools.

The Uintah High School wrestling team takes competition seriously and it paid off over the weekend at the Tournament of Champions in Vernal. Out of 28 teams, the Utes took 1st place with a team combined total of 223 points. Juab came in 2nd and Delta 3rd. Other teams from the region competed as well.

The board for the Uintah Transportation Special Service District met on Thursday evening taking on a new year of business. Seated at the table with the board was Executive Director Adam Massey who has returned to work since the board lifted his suspension during a December board meeting. 

Three Arrested Teens Referred to Juvenile Court for Threat of Terrorism

The three teens arrested after the Thursday incident at Duchesne High School have been referred to juvenile court for threat of terrorism. According to Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office, a 15-year-old and two 14-year-olds are being held at Split Mountain Youth Detention Center in connection with the incident that resulted in a lockdown at Duchesne High School on Thursday.
