Local President of the Uintah Basin Applied Technology College was presented with an award during the March UBATC Board meeting. President Aaron Weight received the Patriot Award from the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve through the Department of Defense.

County attorney by day, pop culture impersonator by night. Uintah County Attorney Jonathan Stearmer took to the stage on Friday as Napoleon Dynamite for a great cause at the Vernal Middle School. 

Today the two Uintah County Commissioners will handle the next step in filling the vacant Commission seat. The Uintah County Republican Committee delivered their letter to the Commission on Wednesday selecting Duane Shepherd as the replacement for Mike McKee on the County Commission.

St. Patrick’s Day is considered one of the most dangerous holidays of the year due to holiday celebrations resulting in drunk driving accidents and fatalities. Over St. Patrick’s Day holidays from 2009 to 2013, there were a total of 276 lives lost from drunk driving crashes in the United States.

The Vernal Area Chamber of Commerce continues to do their part to keep the community vibrant and full of opportunity. Last week, the Chamber hosted a business seminar that provided Myers Briggs personality testing to anyone in the community through UBATC.

A revolutionary dance company in the middle of its 50th Anniversary season is coming to Vernal this month to host clinics and put on a once in a lifetime performance. Repertory Dance Theatre is the nation’s oldest and most successful dance company of its kind. 

One month ago today, a group of Government students from Uintah High School took Utah’s Capital by storm as they testified in favor of HB 117 before the Business and Labor Committee.
