Lucero Being Held Without Bail

A Vernal man has pleaded guilty to a charge of attempted child sex abuse. Steven Joseph Lucero had previously pleaded guilty to Attempted Aggravated Assault and Child Abuse related to an incident on December 5th, 2015 as well as to charges related to domestic violence on December 28th, 2015 and February 5th, 2016.

The launch of the new school year has gone smoothly in the Uintah School District. According to Superintendent Mark Dockins, the district had no hiccups on the first days and while there are no solid numbers yet, enrollment is about where they hoped.

D.A.R.E. Program Returning to Duchesne County

The D.A.R.E. program is returning to Duchesne County. The Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office announced last week that Sheriff Dave Boren and Chief Deputy Travis Tucker both completed the 80 hour officer training that will allow the program to return to Duchesne County.
