A young man is fighting for his life after a semi and car collided on Highway 13 between Meeker and Rifle on the morning of the 4th of July. Highway 13 was closed for several hours. The driver of the car, 21-year-old Tyler Young, was in serious condition and was flown by medical helicopter to a hospital in Grand Junction. The driver of the semi, 28-year-old Stefan Jackson, was not injured. Young was not wearing a seatbelt and many consider it a miracle he is alive. As of last report his condition had been upgraded from serious to stable.
