Yellowstone Canyon Bridge Replacement Update

by | Sep 25, 2019 | News | 0 comments

The Yellowstone Canyon Bridge replacement project has been slightly delayed and Ashley National Forest announced Thursday that the work will now take place from September 25th to October 9th. Yellowstone Canyon Road and the ATV trail will be closed at the Bridge Campground on the southwest side of the bridge and on the main road north of the existing bridge. There will be no through traffic during the project time period. “The replacement is planned due to the age and condition of the current bridge to ensure public safety and provide continued access to Yellowstone Canyon along Forest Service Road 119,” shares Ashley National Forest. “This work is scheduled during this period due to the reduced stream flow so new footings can be installed and hardened before stream flow increases.” The alternate route to get to Swift Creek and the 77 Flats area is to take 16000 West to the Mud Springs Draw Road out of Altonah that connects to Forest Service Road 232, the Burnt Mill Spring Road.
