Uintah County announced that work has begun that will help visitors to the Via Ferrata. Crews have started on the Ashley Gorge parking lot, a County-built project approved by the BLM Utah. “This improvement will make it easier and safer for visitors to enjoy the surrounding public lands managed by both the County and the Federal government,” shares the County’s announcement. “The new lot provides safe, designated parking and access to Dingell Act–conveyed lands, helping support responsible recreation and a better experience for everyone who visits Ashley Gorge.” Uintah County recently announced a potential Phase Two to the Via Ferrata that could include two additional routes, and a route extension, that would direct recreationists away from sensitive water sources and create the option for a possible second day of climbing.
