Women’s Day Out Draws Crowd

The weekend’s storm didn’t stop local women from flocking to the Western Park in Vernal on Saturday for the annual Women’s Day Out. A great crowd turned out, perusing vendor tables, sampling treats, and enjoying live entertainment. Joe and Teddy Evans hatched the idea for the event 16 years ago. “There’s not a lot that happens in February,” shares Teddy. “It’s kind of a down time of year so we decided to do something focused on women so they could come out and have a fun day.” While the storm put a few kinks in the travel plans for the scheduled motivational speaker, there was no shortage of prize drawings and live performances. thrilled the crowd and added to the excitement of the day. With another year in the books, Women’s Day Out 2017 succeeded for many in dusting off the winter blues.
