What Is Prop #9 And Constitutional Amendment A/B On Uintah County Ballot?

The Uintah County Sample Ballot for the General Election contains two Proposed Constitutional Amendments and a County Ballot Question for voters to select either FOR or AGAINST. Constitutional Amendment A concerns how proposed constitutional amendments are published. If approved, state statute would change to require the Lieutenant Governor to publish the full text of all proposed constitutional amendments and other ballot questions on the Utah Public Notice Website and on the Lieutenant Governor's website for 60 days before the general election. Constitutional Amendment B asks if citizen-proposed laws that increase taxes should be approved by at least 60% of voters, instead of a simple majority. The County Ballot Question is Proposition #9 which asks if Uintah County should replace the 3 full-time member Commission form of government for a 5 part-time Council-Manager form of government. The Question landed on the ballot after a group of local citizens going by ‘Citizens For Change’ gathered signatures for their petition to have the question placed on the November ballot.
