A condominium complex in Roosevelt has followed through on their commitment to conserve water and set an example to others of how it can be done. The Mountain Green Condominium development removed over 18,000 square feet of grass, replacing it with a decorative rock design. “This water conservation project was approved by the 16 homeowners in the development and is being undertaken in response to severe drought conditions in the area,” shares the announcement. “Removal of this turf area will save thousands of gallons of secondary water each irrigation season.” Mike Hyde, the President of the Mountain Green HOA, further explained that the project is an example of how owners of large turf areas can adapt and conserve precious water resources while also reducing their water bills.
