A man wanted by law enforcement for failing to register as a sex offender has been apprehended. The public’s help was requested in September by Vernal City Police in their search for 30-year-old Jason Durbin. Although convicted, Durbin had repeatedly failed to register as a sex offender. The court’s probable cause statement says that in September law enforcement assisted with a U.S. Marshal’s request for assistance in locating Durbin and found that he had changed his employment and residence and also failed to appear for a scheduled court appearance. Along with the felony charge of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, Durbin also faced a charge of felony Bail-Jumping. Vernal City Police announced on Monday that Durbin had been apprehended. They expressed thanks for all the tips and information from the community.
